Website reading data

Free-reading position, bookmark, selected theme and Web Khatmah progress are stored in this browser. They are not synchronized to an Al Mustafa account.

Backup files

Export creates a JSON file locally on your device. Import reads that file in your browser. Al Mustafa does not upload the backup to a server.

Prayer times on the website

The website requests browser geolocation only after you press “Use my location”. Coordinates and the latest prayer-time result can be stored locally for convenience. To calculate times, the browser sends coordinates to the AlAdhan Prayer Times API. Al Mustafa does not operate a server that receives or stores this location.

Quran pages, English meanings and offline cache

Mushaf page images are files produced for the Al Mustafa project and served from its static Quran-page host. The English meaning text is bundled with the website from the same reviewed Al-Hilali & Khan / QuranEnc source used by the Al Mustafa app. To match that text to the standard 604-page Mushaf, the English reader may request page-to-ayah mapping data from the Al Quran Cloud API; normal network metadata such as your IP address can therefore be visible to that provider. In the Arabic reader, opening the Tafsir panel requests the selected page Tafsir from the Al Quran Cloud API. Recently used page maps, Tafsir responses and a limited set of Mushaf page images may be cached locally so previously opened content can reopen without a network connection.

Android app 2.0.1

The Android app does not require an account, display ads, use analytics or tracking, or provide cloud backup. With your permission, it uses device location to calculate prayer times and select the appropriate calculation method, and stores the latest coordinates and resolved city name locally for prayer-time operation. With your permission, it uses notification access to schedule prayer, daily reading, and adhkar reminders on your device. Quran page images are loaded from the project's Cloudflare Pages infrastructure, and the app may use api.alquran.cloud for tafsir and some Quran meaning translations and QuranEnc for approved sources; as with any internet request, normal technical data such as an IP address may be visible to the relevant provider under its own policy. Settings, theme choice, reading and Khatmah progress, and cached content are stored locally on your device. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising or marketing.

Delete data

Use the website controls to forget prayer location, or clear site data in browser settings. You can export a backup first if you want to preserve reading and Khatmah progress.
